When switching from sugar to liquid sweeteners like honey, date syrup, or maple syrup, you'll need to make a few adjustments when the amount of liquid sweetener is more than 85 grams (1/4 cup):

  • Sweetener Amount: Use less of the liquid sweetener than sugar.
  • Flour Adjustment: Add more flour to balance the extra moisture.
  • Baking Temperature: Lower the oven temperature by 25°F to prevent over-browning.
  • Leavening: Add a bit of baking soda to help with acidity.

Remember how bread with honey bakes best at 350-375°F instead of 400°F or higher? The same goes for our sweet treats. These small changes ensure your goodies turn out just right!
